Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release new music through the internet including Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. The following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video later released in September. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. Then, in November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole on The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The song, made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first 7 days. As a supporting act, she toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
